This was my second time staying at Pankaj’s and it was no different from the first time. Above and beyond service and genuine, fun conversations with a host who really cares about the well-being of his guests. It had been three years since my last time in Delhi and we picked up exactly where we left off, like brothers who haven’t seen in each in years. However, if I’m being completely honest, the chai that Mr Singh (Pankaj’s right-hand man) makes is what I looked forward to every single day during my stay – the best in town. Save yourself the pre-trip hours searching for the perfect place to stay in Delhi because this is it. Trust me, you’re in great hands.

Around CR Park for 80 days

We have just completed the most amazing stay at Tatvamasi. We were in it for the long haul, 80 days in total. From the day we arrived in November to the day we left in February we were so well looked after by Pankaj and his lovely mum. Our room was a good size with lots of cupboards, desk, comfy bed and a large bathroom. Small cooking facilities are available with toaster, kettle and microwave. Coffee sachets, teabags and biscuits are replenished daily. We also had a sitting area outside the room and a shared balcony. Our room was kept tidy and clean by Soban (Pankaj’s right hand man…) and Anita (who was a delight). Nothing was too much trouble for Soban, he was terrific. When we arrived in November we found the temperatures comfortable without any air con and refused a heater, by the time mid December arrived we needed both a blanket and heater. Pankaj does have duvet quilts but we preferred a blanket. The house in never left without staff present, we had no worries about our belongings being secure. The area around the Homestay is residential and very quiet at night, with only the sound of the night watchman’s stick and whistle. Pankaj makes sure that you are shown around the area and takes time to walk you to various markets depending on your needs. He kindly uses his car on occasions if it is easier for you to get somewhere. It seems that every type of restaurant delivers to Tatvamasi, lots of leaflets for you to choose from and excellent service. Pankaj is also able to recommend sightseeing and shopping destinations and I think arrange transport (but we didn’t need this). Pankaj is a delightful, personable character determined to make your stay enjoyable and memorable…………

My 3rd time staying at Tatvamasi

Had an enforced 2.5 months stay Delhi due to lockdown. No better place to spend it then at Pankaj’s homestay. It had been refurbished since my last visit in March ’19. with new rooms etc.

Had the room on opposite the outdoor terrace. As usual, very comfy, with good internet connection for my online work.

Cannot recommend this place enough, which is situated in a very safe area of southern Delhi. Great hospitality, and Pankaj will go out of his way to help you, whether it’s local knowledge, shopping, doctors etc.

As in my title, this is the 3rd time I’ve stayed here, with the first time back in 2016. The quality of service and willingness to help make my stay comfortable under less than ideal circumstances ( lockdown) has never faltered.

5 stars in my books 🙂

This is my second review of Tatvamasi Homestay. Since my first visit, it has become the place I stay when in Delhi – I have been a guest for about four-five times by now.
I feel compelled to write this second review to compliment the amazing owner, Pankaj, on the consistency in the quality of the service he provides. Oftentimes, you find that you love a hotel/guesthouse when you first visit, but then, the standard gradually goes down; this seems to be especially true of the smaller, privately-owned accommodations.
However, that is not at all the case with Tatvamasi. If anything, it’s improving: there are a few brand-new rooms, immaculately clean, well-stocked with everything required, and comfortable. The rest remains the same: amazing location, a straightforward drive away from the airport and close to good food, a lovely park, shopping and sightseeing; the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, and, most importantly, the owner’s ability to maintain the highest standard of hospitality for a friendly price.
You really can’t go wrong with this accommodation. Highly recommended, yet again.

Thanks to the owner (Pankaj) of Tatvamasi Homestay for ensuring my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The accommodation was perfect.

Pankaj took the time and interest to explain places of interest, restaurants, how to get around, etc. He also took the time to show me around the area (the park, shops, restaurants, etc.). I do miss drinking the coconut water!

It was so nice to have contacts to pick us up and take us where we needed to go. The recommendations about Akshardam Temple, Taj Mahal, Lotus Temple, Cyber Hub, etc were amazing! Will definitely try using the Metro next visit.

I have been telling friends that if they travel to Delhi to stay at Tatvamasi Homestay. Pankaj is a great host and really looks out for his customers. This is so comforting when you are visiting, to know people are there for you.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting Pankaj – felt like family. Wishing you all the best!

Never stayed in a Homestay before and not knowing what to expect. It was highly recommended by a friend so I thought I should go for it. No regrets. The house and rooms are well maintained. As you may have probably read from other review, Pankaj provided the best hospitality. Ask him about anything and he is able to help. He is almost like an international five star hotel manager who never refuses his guests. 🙂 If you enjoy chatting, Pankaj would be your best companion over a cup of masala chai.
The room itself is comfortable and linen are fresh and clean. The kitchen is equipped and allows you to prepare a simple meal. There are lots of eateries nearby too. Chinese and Japanese food are easily available within a walking distance. Longing for a cheese cake? No worries, there are lots of cafes here. “Coffee Day”, the local chain of coffee is recommended.
The area is very safe, nobody stares at you like you are an alien here. It is also just about 35 minutes drive from the IGI airport during off peak hours.

Would HIGHLY recommend

We went with the exceptional reviews on this place while booking our last-minute trip to Delhi, knowing practically nothing about anything. It turned out to be one of the best travel decisions I have made (I used to travel domestically monthly and twice a year internationally).

About the house: It’s a very nice, modest home, with everything you need and then some (like the beautifully shaded balcony/roof-top on the 3rd floor). Very comfortable and clean, with the host’s family touch. No flashy perks like a 5-star hotel, of course — if that’s what you want, then you should book somewhere else.

Location: We really liked that the homestay is located in a good, middle-class neighborhood that’s relaxed, safe, and homey, yet convenient to small shops, restaurants (fancy new ones 5 min away, or cheap-and-cheerful for locals 5 min away, both by walking). It feels “real”, if you know what I mean. The Lotus Temple is a short drive away, and there’s a metro station nearby.

Our host: Pankaj is so kind and helpful he makes you feel like you are at a friend’s house — seriously I don’t know that all my friends would be this helpful, lol. He went out his way several times to walk with us to restaurants, drop us off at a late dinner place, etc. He clearly takes pride in providing exceptional service and building genuine human connections with his guests. I wish our 3-day trip was less hectic so we could have spent a bit more time with him, just chatting about India, food, and life. Like the house he provides for the stay, he is also very “real”.

Extra notes: I wish we listened to Pankaj a bit more when he suggested places to go and to shop. He knows so much about Delhi and is always ready to share. If we could have done it again, I would sit down with him to go over our plan (or the lack of it) to optimize it. So my suggestion is that you take advantages of having such a good host like Pankaj and make your trip even better.

Simply Amazing – A Great Stay

What a great place! Our host Pankaj is an excellent host, he has helped us no end and gives 110% in making sure you get the most out of your stay. His enthusiasm is wonderful. From SIM card to cash, metro card & places to eat or visit he has it all at his fingertips.

We recommend Tatvamasi Homestay if you want a smooth transition into Delhi in a calmer area of the city. Pankaj is devoted to ensure your stay is happy and to help you out with anything.

First time when I was here with one of my friend in april 2019 for 5 night I fell in love with the hospitality and feeling this place has provided me. Well this place is truly a home away from home for me. Now I am here staying again for four nights.
if you were to book this place be prepared for a heart warming welcome from Pankaj (CEO of this Homestay). He will personally walk with you and show you neighbouring area which is filled with restaurant and street food market.
I like this place because this place is located in a quiet neighbourhood and surrounded by restaurants which will provide quality food and If there is any problem you can talk to Pankaj and that will be solved in one Minute. Not to mention Best WiFi network.
This place is amazing I can recommend this place to everyone.

After traveling around in India (for the first time) for two weeks, our last visit at Tatvamasi Homestay was definitely one to remember. The room itself was great with clean facilities, a nice bed, modern tv setup and a nice covered veranda. But the biggest plus is definitely the host: Pankaj.

We were received by our host and had a long conversation in the lobby. Pankaj explained us everything we needed to know about the direct surroundings, where to get food, what the best way to travel was and helped us plan our next few days in Delhi. It was a great relief to finally talk to someone who is sincerely trying to help out without an agenda, something we felt was mostly the case at touristic establishments in India.

He invited us to tag along for a a philosophical gathering that he attends from time to time: Wise & Otherwise which was a great experience. Afterwards he showed us around the neighborhood and showed us all the great non touristic and cheap local food vendors.

Since this was our first time in India we did stumble into some trouble along the way due to our inexperience.

If I could do it all over again I would book a few days at Tatvamasi Homestay -first- before traveling further from Delhi just to learn about the do’s and don’ts in the country from Pankaj.

Would definitely book a room again when in India, would definitely recommend visiting Tatvamasi Homestay to others, go here first thing when you land in Delhi you will not regret it!

Tatvamasi is a wonderful place to stay. its one of the little oases of calm in this busy world. As a lone traveler and my first time in india I really appreciated the time Pankaj gifted to me each day. He would go beyond to help me make detailed travel itineraries, detailing great places to eat, with dish suggestions, and wonderful places to visit. All based around my personal likes and dislikes. Using his plans I was able to comfortably explore the city by myself with no problems. He also frequently greeted me each evening after a busy day exploring, we talked and he would take a real interest in my day, as solo traveller I really appreciated this. I can see for him hosting people is more than a job, its his vocation.

Location:Perfect; Character:Perfect;Caring service:Way better than perfect
Tatvamasi has become my refuge and home in Delhi; it is amazing that I can get so much personal attention so near the M Block restaurants and bars. The guiding genius of Tatvamasi is Pankaj, the owner, who takes extraordinary personal care of everyone — walking you on the route to the restaurants, knowing your tastes, handling emergencies. I left a passport in my room and Pankaj and staff just jumped right on it, mailed it, and saved my life. This place epitomizes why people get India Fever; this country is like a 1.2-billion-person group hug.
